The Questions of Life

Each time I come across a post like this, it always leaves me in awe.... One of the greatest philosopher of all time made a Statement: "there's nothing new under the sun" (Eccl 1:9)

He went further and said that the race (human race) is not to the swift (he that can run) nor the strong, nor is bread for the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding, he concluded with this phrase "time and chance happens to them all" (Eccl 9:11)

The philosopher was so wise he then reminded us of what all men should do that "we should remember (know, fellowship, commune) our Creator in our youthful age, for a day and a time is subject to all men which is the day of evil... That we should seek him now that strength fails not and desire fails not." (Eccl 12)

But then a question comes to mind...
What is the meaning of life?
Is life simply to be born, go to school, get a job, make money, marry, raise children, grow old and then die?
Is that all?

O friend, imagine a man who spent his whole life pursuing wealth. He built houses he never had time to enjoy, accumulated money he barely had time to spend, became known by thousands but never truly knew himself. Then one day, whilst lying upon his sick bed, surrounded by everything he had laboured for, he asks a simple question:
“Is this all there is to life?”
And perhaps the most frightening thing is not that he asks the question at the end...
but that he never asked it at the beginning.
O friend tell me; is it when you become old that you'll want to know God?, of what use will he be to you then? Why not know him now that the time is yet tender...

For so it is subjected to all men to seek God for himself, for man was made with a space reserved for the manufacturer and man tries by all means to fill up this space by himself and he ends up being dissatisfied, depressed, unfulfilled.

And it is Thus because man was made subject to communion, to communicate with his maker, to fellowship, to come into the full volume of his being.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)
Perhaps this is why a man may have everything and yet feel as though something is missing.
He may have money, but no meaning.
He may have applause, but no peace.
He may have people around him, but still feel alone.

He may know what he wants to become, but never discover why he was created.
For the greatest tragedy of a man's life may not be that he failed...
but that he succeeded at the wrong thing.
And so the question is not merely “What do I want to become?”
The greater question is:
“What was I created to become?”
Because if there is a Creator, then there must be a purpose behind the creation.
And if there is a purpose, then somewhere there must be a pattern, a design, a script concerning the man.

Picture this:
How does a pastor know he's supposed to be a pastor...
Is it Zeal?
No of course...
